SheSecures Community Care Program
The SheSecures Community Care Program was created to provide limited complimentary notarial support for qualifying personal documents for eligible members of the community.
Eligible Participants
- Active Duty Military with valid military identification
- Veterans or military retirees with valid proof of veteran or retired status
- Individuals with disabilities who can provide disability-related documentation or referral from a recognized care facility, caseworker, social worker, senior center, disability support organization, or nonprofit
This program applies only to the eligible individual receiving the notarization. It does not automatically extend to spouses, dependents, relatives, friends, or accompanying parties. SheSecures does not require disclosure of a diagnosis or private medical details. Eligibility may be confirmed through reasonable documentation or referral.
Covered Services
The program covers complimentary notarial fees for qualifying personal documents, subject to availability and document eligibility.
Qualifying personal documents may include affidavits, school-related forms, permission forms, personal statements, powers of attorney, and other personal documents requiring notarization, provided the document is complete and the signer understands what they are signing.
Exclusions: The program does not include legal document preparation, legal advice, loan signing assignments, real estate closings, commercial transactions, apostille or authentication government fees, large print jobs, courier services, scanbacks, witness coordination, or full estate document packages unless specifically approved in advance.
Service Limits
- Complimentary notarization is limited to up to two notarized principal signatures per eligible person, per appointment, unless otherwise approved by SheSecures in advance.
- Community Care appointments are limited to one complimentary appointment per eligible person per month unless otherwise approved.
- Appointments are subject to availability and may not be available for urgent, same-day, after-hours, or high-volume requests.
Travel and Mileage
No travel/mileage fee will be charged for qualifying appointments within 10 miles of SheSecures’ base location. For appointments more than 10 miles from SheSecures’ base location, mileage/travel fees may apply and must be agreed to in writing before travel.
Mileage is calculated per appointment location, not per document. If multiple eligible individuals are served at the same location during the same appointment, one mileage/travel fee may apply to the appointment.
Identification and Notarial Requirements
- All signers must personally appear before the notary and present satisfactory identification as required by North Carolina notary law.
- The signer must be willing, aware, and able to communicate directly with the notary. The document must be complete and ready for notarization.
- SheSecures reserves the right to pause or refuse a notarization if legal notarial requirements are not met.
Important Limitations
SheSecures cannot provide legal advice, select the type of notarization for the signer, prepare legal documents, explain legal rights, or determine whether a document is legally sufficient.
If there is uncertainty about the document, the type of notarial act required, or the legal effect of the document, the signer may need to contact the receiving agency, attorney, lender, title company, or document preparer before the appointment.
Program Availability
The SheSecures Community Care Program is offered as a community service and may be modified, paused, or discontinued at any time based on availability, business operations, service demand, or program sustainability.
